This weekend at Discovery we are blessed to have pastor, author, husband, dad and church planter Vince Antonucci with us. 

Vince, just moved his whole family from the East Coast to Las Vegas about 6 weeks ago to launch a brand new church on the Las Vegas Strip.

We are coming alongside Vince and this new church plant with much human & finaincial resources.  My prayer is that in coming weeks many of you from the Discovery body can make some short term trips to help Vince and his team minister and launch this new Vegas church!

Vince, is a powerful communicator of God's Word and I am certain the whole DC community is going to be encouraged & challenged this weekend.

Vince, will also have his wife and kiddos with him at DC so be sure to give em' all some love!

God's Big Bailout - Part II

This weekend at Discovery we continue a series called "God's Big Bailout". 

This week we will be studying what the scripture says about "savings".

The series is intended to provide us with Bible based wisdom on how to live through these historic economic times.

Additionally, this series will focus on the fact that God has given each of us a bailout.  Just has many banks, investment firms and car companies have mismanaged and squandered their businesses --- so have we mismanaged our lives.

And there is NO WAY we are going to turn our lives around on our own.

So, God gave us a bailout!

Praise God for the gift of his Son.  For God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

$55 Bottled Water!?

As I work on the "God's Big Bailout" series for Discovery I have come across many ways we end up wasting our money. 

But this one takes the cake!

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a bottle of water that costs $55.

Kevin Boyd, a writer and producer from Hollywood, has developed a "luxury" water called Bling H2O that costs an average of $55.

Depending on the size, prices can range anywhere from $25 to as much as $75.

The water comes directly from Stoneclear Springs, a natural spring in the middle of 120 acres of virgin forest, 60 miles west of Nashville.

Stoneclear Springs water has won gold and bronze medals for Best Taste at the International Bottled Water Tasting Competition held in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

So If you have an extra $500 sitting around --- you could buy a whole case for your Super Bowl party this year!

Glenn Beck - Christmas Sweater

Each year I try to find a good Christmas book to read that just takes me back to simpler nostalgic days.

This year I downloaded Glenn Beck's book to my kindle and it only took an evening and a morning to finish it.

It is a unique story of things lost and found.

Faith, anger, doubt, pain, forgiveness ... and most of all appreciation.

Appreciation for what we have even if we don't know we have it!

Great read ... even in these days AFTER Christmas.
