Rocky Balboa speaks about Pastors!

These paragraphs were sent to my facebook by a member of Discovery and I just had to pass it on!

Sylvester Stallone told a group of pastors.

“Living without a church is like working out without a trainer. You need to have the expertise and guidance of someone else. You can't train yourself. I feel the same way about Christianity. The church is the gym of the soul. And the pastors … are like trainers that guide you through difficult times and take you to places you don’t believe you can go.”

He went on to say…

“The more I turn myself over to the process of believing in Jesus, listening to His Word and having Him guide my hand, the more I feel as though the pressure is off me now.”

Way to go Rock!

WHITE Christmas Weekend @ DC!

This weekend at Discovery we will continue our "Colors of Christmas" series and consider the color white.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is in Is. 1:18 that says, "Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be made white as snow."

That verse along with the Christmas story in Luke 2 & Matthew 1 will be our focus this weekend.

It is going to be a phenomenal gathering at DC --- full or worship, specials music with a choir, baptisms and the Christmas story!

Recession hits Starbucks HARD! (See Photo)

I received this cup this morning at my local Starbucks.  It seems as though they have decided to ship out all those "defective" cups as money tightens.  This one has a place for your own picture instead of the green goddess.  This cup will be on Ebay later if you wanna own it!

SoCal Snow!

I spent the past two days at about 6000ft in SoCal mountain snow praying & studying.  I came back with some great Christmas messages and these "cool" photos!

Having a BLUE Christmas?

What happens when the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas is not the greatest season of the year?

Many people experience "blue" during this season from loss of a job, divorce, health issues or loss of a loved one.

As painful as these things are they are often equally cherished, important and a part of you.

This weekend at Discovery we will study the first few verses of Luke chapter two we will see that the first Christmas had its share of "blue" moments as well.

My prayer is that you will be comforted & encouraged
